Bruuuuuuuuuuuce

This is a common yell from those at a Bruce Springsteen concert who may or may not have had an adult beverage or two prior to the show.  I like concerts, theater, classical music and visiting museums, but I think I reached a milestone of sorts this spring attending what I believe was my tenth Bruce Springsteen concert. I’m sure there is some eye rolling from those of you reading this who have seen your favorite band or show many more times.  Heck, Karen on our team attended that many U-2 concerts in a week (I joke, but barely).  Considering though I have not seen another band in concert more than once, Springsteen is on my Mount Rushmore of must-see events.

I never had the good fortune to see him until the 90s, although there were some close calls, I never had the chance to see one of his epic 3 ½ hour shows.  However, even at age 74 he performed for 2 ½ hours in what was an amazing concert.  I had a friend jokingly comment that for such a well-known performer he does not have a great singing voice.  While that is true, his energy and on-stage presence are unforgettable.  Watching him stand on a piano as the crowd sings along to the song, his arms folded across his chest as if to say, “is that all you’ve got”, challenging everyone to pour as much energy into the music as him. Consider my ticket bought for the next concert tour.

I’d be interested to hear what are your “must see” activities or events.
