Latest Milestone
Our latest milestone is crawling – we aren’t there yet but we are getting very close.
It started with a kind of army crawl, as Briana used her arms to pull herself forward while her torso remained on the ground. She was very happy about this and would kick her legs in excitement as she went, even though they weren’t yet helping much.
I can’t believe how quick she already is, just with the army crawl. She loves her newfound ability to move herself around, and it’s fascinating to see the little wheels turn in her head as she decides what object or person she wants to pursue. So far, she really likes to lift up and look under the corners of rugs.
Shortly after this development she started to get up on all fours. It started very hesitantly, crashing back down to the floor almost as quickly as she got up. But she’s much steadier now and will rock back and forth in place while on her knees.
As fast as she is now, I know she’ll be much quicker when she’s able to really crawl. Many a friend, colleague, or relative has warned me to get ready for chasing her around even more. I know it will be a challenge, but so far, it’s also been a really cool development, and I’m looking forward to more.
