Truro
I recently returned from Truro and my in-laws’ annual family vacation. I’ve gone about five times now but some of them have been going for over 50 years. For little Briana it was her second trip there and it was amazing how different the experience was for a 14-month-old compared to a 2-month-old.
Last year I’m not sure how much she noticed, but this year Briana was definitely taking in all of the sights. She’s always loved the beach so she was in heaven. She really enjoyed playing with the sand and has now learned not to eat it. Briana is the youngest of six cousins, all girls, and that was the highlight for her. She loved watching them play and would even try to insert herself into their little games. They were all so kind to her, without any jealousy.
This year was much easier for us too. Babies of any age require a lot of things, but this year our car seemed slightly less jam packed (with room to bring back a couple bottles of Truro Vineyards wine). Swapping the full stroller for the umbrella stroller definitely helped. Naps were more predictable (and longer), making it much easier to plan little trips and outings.
Despite the fact that we all enjoyed things more in some ways, there were many other things that needed no improvement – time with family, all the seafood you could want, and a nice week away from the office.
